LETTERS TO AND FROM MOM

Letters to and From Mom is a zine conceived of while in residence at SÍM in Reykjavík in 2015. And edition of 200 was printed in 2021.

The text consist of small handwritten messages from “Mom”, addressed to “Mom”.

Are these the same “Mom”? Multiple Moms? No Mom?

The form of this text – written on Post-it notes – references the types of notes that were commonly left by adults for children and babysitters, before the ubiquitous use of cellphones and SMS. This text can be read as an absurd dialogue between parts of oneself, or perhaps as confusing artifact left for “Mom” – with love – by a mysterious other.
